Why It Matters
Harmful alcohol consumption is one of the leading causes of preventable illness and death in Romania. INSP studies indicate that approximately 280 AUDIT assessments can save one life. APDCC is one of the few NGOs outside Bucharest that is actively and consistently involved in this campaign.
About the Campaign
APDCC participates annually in two national campaigns assessing personal alcohol consumption, organised by ALIAT Mental Health Association, with support from Heineken România, the Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Public Health (INSP). The AUDIT questionnaire is the scientific tool developed by the World Health Organisation, used in over 190 countries.
Activities in 2025
- AUDIT Week (9–15 June 2025): testing point in Miercurea-Ciuc; online completion at www.testareaudit.ro; social media campaign
- Alcohelp Caravan (30–31 October 2025): testing tent on str. Mihail Sadoveanu; hours 11:00–19:00; APDCC trained volunteers
- Presentation at Heineken România: presentation on responsible alcohol consumption for Heineken employees
